  5. Implement de-escalation strategies to reduce tension and move heated exchanges toward rational discussion and mutual understanding.

  6. Facilitate a win-win resolution by guiding parties toward mutually agreeable solutions and generating creative options.

  7. Provide constructive and non-judgemental feedback to address performance or behavioral issues with clarity and respect.

  8. Practice using mediation techniques to assist two or more conflicting parties in reaching a productive agreement.

  2. Identifying the five conflict resolution styles (e.g., Collaborating, Avoiding).

  3. Understanding the role of emotional intelligence in managing conflict.

  4. Setting clear objectives and determining the best timing and setting for the discussion.


Module 2: Foundational Communication and De-escalation

  1. Mastering advanced active listening (paraphrasing, reflecting).

  2. Crafting effective "I-statements" to own feelings and impact without blame.

  3. Utilizing specific language patterns to interrupt hostility and resistance.

  4. Applying the "Pause, Breathe, Respond" method for emotional self-regulation.


Module 3: Structured Models for Difficult Conversations

  1. Introduction to the Interest-Based Relational (IBR) approach.

  2. The steps of the DESC script for confrontation and behavior change.

  3. Guiding the discussion toward generating mutually agreeable solutions.

  4. Providing constructive and non-judgmental feedback on performance issues.


Module 4: Resolution and Post-Conflict Actions

  1. Practicing mediation techniques for team conflicts.

  2. Documenting the resolution and agreed-upon action plans.

  3. Strategies for following up on commitments and ensuring accountability.

  4. Transforming conflict into opportunities for team learning.
